NW Okie's Journey

While in the Houston, Texas area, we did make a one day visit to the beaches at Galveston. The image on the left is a view of the Galveston beach with visitors enjoying the beach along with the surfers. We got back to Durango and surrounding areas of southwest Colorado, the afternoon of Saturday, 18 January 2014. Sadie and Ruff greeting us after we drove into the driveway at Vallecito.

Walking With Sadie

It was a sunny, Saturday afternoon, that Ruff and I saw NW Okie coming home from Houston, Texas Medical Center. I was excited, turning in circles to get my back, ears rubbed along with the normal little rubs NW Okie gives me when she is here.That is my buddy Ruff (the schnauzer) pictured with me this week.

100 Years Ago, 20 January 1914

One hundred years ago, Tuesday, 20 January 1914, the Tulsa Daily World, Morning Edition, reported on its front page, "Convicts Dash for Liberty; Seven Persons Were Killed." Three officials at McAlester penitentiary killed and Muskogee lawyer were victims of the convicts. They used a girl as a child, the convicts shooting right and left escape from prison grounds. A sharpshooter picked off the convicts as they made their days across the open country surrounding the prison.

Bold Robbery of Pittsburg Bank (1914)

One hundred years ago, 20 January 1914, Tuesday, The Daily Ardmoreite, reported on a "Bold Robbery Of Pittsburg Bank." Two masked men robbed the bank then galloped out of town as the posse pursued.
