As our huge wind chimes played their chiming, wind melody Friday afternoon, another flurry of snowflakes dropped 1/2 inch of snow by the evening hours in this southwest valley, south of Bayfield, Colorado Friday night.

Shirk's Oklahoma Place Names "Second Edition Revised and Enlarged", Lambert in Alfalfa County, 8 miles Southwest [6 miles South, 2 West] of Cherokee, A post office from November 21, 1901 to April 30, 1952. Named for Ambrose Lambert, town site owner.
