Another week passed us by and April is no more. Happy May Day 2016 to everyone out there. We came back to Alva, Oklahoma, Sunday on May Day to find our light purple and dark Irises blooming in our front yard. Just beautiful.

Another week of searching Oklahoma outlaws of the 1930's. This week we continue with Charles "Pretty Boy" Floyd, finding information in The Evening Review, East Liverpool, Ohio, dated 23 October 1934, Tuesday, page 1, with these headlines: "It Was Luck," McDermott Says As Outlaw Is Slain." Written by Chief Hugh J. McDermott as related to William J. Waters.

1933 - Net Spread For "Pretty Boy" Floyd In New York

In May 1933, a "Net Spread for "Pretty Boy" in New York State After Killing of Detective In Bank Holdup." That is what the Miami Daily News-Record, Miami, Oklahoma, dated 29 May 1933, Monday, had on it's front page headlines. Warning to look out for Oklahoma outlaw coupled with Renesselaer, New York raid, in which six bandits shot way out of police trap.

1934 - $350 Needed To Bury Pretty Boy Floyd

In The Morning News, Danville, Pennsylvania, dated 24 October 1934, Wednesday, the front page headlines read: "Family Lacks Funds To Bury Slain Gangster." The family needed $350 for funeral expenses of Public Enemy No. 1.

It was in the El Paso Herald -Post, El Paso, TX, dated 21 June 1933, Wednesday, page 1, we found this short article: "Card Signer 'Floyd' Denies Murders." They think the Missouri message was from hunted desperado.

1934 - Pretty Boy Wounded, Aide Now Prisoner

The San Bernardino County Sun, San Bernardino, California, dated 22 October 1934, Monday, page 1 & 2, had the following headlines: "Pretty Boy Wounded, Aide Now Prisoner." Floyd was believed fugitive in Woods after Henchman held in Ohio town's jail. Citizens were terrorized when carload of bandits raced through Main Street of Ohio.
