This Time of Year In the Colorado Rockies...
"We got .47 inch of rain last night (Oct. 18, 2005) and .59" this morning (Oct. 19). The thunder rolled up and down this little valley last night as I lay in bed reading. At 10:00 a.m. today, there was still frost and ice and the rain left small ponds north of the house. The winds blew golden leaves out of the aspen trees and they've added a nice touch to the plantings under the south bridge tree. Weaselskin Creek is roaring, so we must have gotten quite a deluge north of the cabin. I just love this time of year."
