Waynoka 2006 Collectors Calendars Available...
The Waynoka Historical Society is pleased to renew their annual calendar project with the publication of the 2006 Collectors Calendar. Pioneers, railroading, and aviation are all featured in the black and white photographs.
The beautiful oil painting by the late Jim Robison, Enid, titled Curtis Hill is shown in color on the calendar cover. Black and white photographs for January through December are the following: 1920 Waynoka Harvey Girls, very early Santa Fe Depot scene, John Barnett - Oldest Person at 1939 Frontier Day, 1948 Rattlesnake Round-Up, Train Wreck at Edith, Cowboys in Cheyenne Valley, Mayor and Mrs. Russell Floyd Take Airplane Ride, Plum Picking Time at Galena, Taul Round-Up on the Cimarron Trail, 1914 Belva Street Scene, Santa Fe Roundhouse, and the Barnett Log Cabin in the Snow.
Descriptive historical text accompanies each photograph. The inside back cover has a brief history of Waynoka.
The 2006 calendars are $6.50, tax included. They may be purchased at the Woods County Enterprise or the Museum Gift Shop. Mail orders should be sent to Waynoka Historical Society, PO Box 193, Waynoka OK 73860. Add $2.50 for mailing one calendar, and $.50 for each additional calendar sent to the same address.
