1920 Renfrew's Record - Merchant Gives Away Gasoline...
[taken from frontpage of Renfrew's Record, Oct. 8, 1920] -- William Weinrich, who will start a big dissolution sale Wednesday, October 13th, has inaugurated a very unique scheme to attract trade from a distance. In other times before automobile days, railroad fare was sometimes rebated, but Bill is keeping up with the times and is going to fill the gasoline tank of out-of-town customers who buy as much as $75 worth of merchandise.
Weinrich has been in the clothing business in Alva eighteen years. Starting in as a clerk, he is now sole owner of the Haines clothing store, one of the finest stores in Northwest Oklahoma. William has many friends in Oklahoma who will be delighted to hear of his success.
