1920 Renfrew's Record - Merchant Gives Away Gasoline...

[taken from frontpage of Renfrew's Record, Oct. 8, 1920] -- William Weinrich, who will start a big dissolution sale Wednesday, October 13th, has inaugurated a very unique scheme to attract trade from a distance. In other times before automobile days, railroad fare was sometimes rebated, but Bill is keeping up with the times and is going to fill the gasoline tank of out-of-town customers who buy as much as $75 worth of merchandise.

Weinrich has been in the clothing business in Alva eighteen years. Starting in as a clerk, he is now sole owner of the Haines clothing store, one of the finest stores in Northwest Oklahoma.
