1895 - The Doolin Gang

Out of The Weekly Gazette, out of Colorado Springs, Colorado, dated 13 June 1895, Thursday, on page 2, we found this mention of "The Doolin Gang," surrounded by Marshals, they would be exterminated.

Guthrie, O.T., June 8 (1895) -- Jennie Black and the outlaw Sip Wyatt's wife, who were with the Bill Doolin gang when attacked by marshals in the Glass mountains, were captured and brought to the jail in Guthrie the night before. The cave in which the bandit train robbers took refuge was surrendered by the posses and there was hardly any doubt of their capture. Two of the 10 outlaws who robbed the Rock Island train recently (1895) were wounded and the horses of the whole band were killed. The marshals had been in close pursuit since the robbery and killed two of the gang near Ingalls. George and Asbury Gentry, two of the most desperate outlaws who had appeared in Georgia for years, had joined the Doolin band, their cognomen being "Come Lately Boys."Marshal Nix was determined to exterminate the gang.
