1912, Roosevelt Goes On Western Campaign
Let us look back over one hundred years ago (104 years) to see what they were reporting in The Tennessean newspaper out of Nashville, Tennessee, dated 17 Jul 1912, Wednesday, on page 11: "Roosevelt Will Go On Western Campaign." The leader of Bull_Moose party said funds were scarce and he must go slow.

Oyster By, NY, July 16 (1912) -- Colonel Roosevelt probably would leave Monday or Tuesday for his campaign in the middle west. He said tonight that Senator Dixon was making arrangements for the trip and he did not know definitely when he would start. Colonel Roosevelt said that on account of the scarcity of campaign funds it would be necessary to arrange the tour on as economical a basis as possible.
The ex-President spent the day in New York. Julian Harris of Atlanta called to discuss the situation in Georgia.
Colonel Roosevelt said he resigned a week ago from he republican club of New York, of which he had long been a member. He calcined to discuss his action.
