1928 - William Williamson Kouwenhoven (1846-1928)
It was in The Brooklyn Daily Eagle, Brooklyn, New York, dated 25 June 1928, Monday, page 10, we found the funeral service for W. W. Kouwenhoven, who died Thursday, 24 June 1928, after an illness of a week at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Addison B. Hall, 495 8th Ave., and his funeral held the next day afternoon at the home of his niece, Mrs. Mary K. Ditmas of 2220 Ditmas Ave.
I have found where William Williamson Kouwenhoven's father was Cornelius B. Kouwenhoven, and William and his wife had a son named Cornelius B. Kouwenhoven.

Mr. Kouwenhoven was a member of one of the oldest families in Flatlands, his Holland Dutch ancestors having settled in that section in 1632. He was born in Flatlands 82 years ago (1846) and resided in the Old Kouwenhoven homestead there until 1900, when he built a home in Flatbush, which he later sold. For the last 14 years of of Mr. Kouwenhoven life, he had spent his time traveling.
For many years Mr. Kouwenhoven was in the horticultural business. He was a director of the Long Island Safe Deposit Company, the National Bible Institute of New York and the South African Mission. Throughout his life he was deeply interested in church work.
He was survived by his wife, Mrs. Minnie Meserole Kouwenhoven; two daughters, Mrs. Addison B. Hall and Mrs. Arthur Buys of Nyack, N.Y.; three sons, Gerrit, an officer of the National City Bank; Dr. John Kouwenhoven of Yonkers and Cornelius B. Kouwenhoven of Scarsdale, N.Y.; five grandchildren and a brother,Cornelius Kouwenhoven of Kings Highway.
The services yesterday were conducted by the Rev. Dr. Charles William Roeder, pastor of the Flatlands Dutch Reformed Church, and the Rev. Dr. J. Fredric Berg, pastor of the Dutch Reformed Church of Flatbush. Interment was in the family plot at Greenwood Cemetery.

Mary Kouwenhoven Ditmas Obituary
We found this death announcement on ancestry.com for W. W. Kouwenhoven's niece, Mary Kouwenhoven Ditmas, a widow of John H. Ditmas, whose family settled in Flatbush in the middle of the seventeenth century, died on Sunday at her home, 2220 Ditmas avenue, in her 75th year. The Kouwenhoven family was also one of the first to settle in Flatbush. Mrs. Ditmas was married in 1859. Her husband, who died June 1913, was Vice President of the Flatbush Trust Company, and for many years with the Long Island Bank. Mrs. Ditmas was survived by a daughter, Miss Mary Kouwenhoven Ditmas.
