NW Okie's Journey
I have been busy exploring my ancestryDNA that I received a few weeks ago. Of the Ethnicity estimate of my ancestors, the following percentages apply: Europe West (59%); Great Britain (14%); Scandinavia (10%); Europe East (8%); Trace regions of Finland/Northwest Russia (3%), Ireland (2%), Italy/Greece (2%), Iberian Peninsula (<1%); Africa Trace regions (Mali 1%).
What are "trace regions?" These are regions where you seem to have just a trace amount of genetic ethnicity — there is only a small amount of evidence supporting the regions as part of your genetic ethnicity. Because both the estimated amount and the range of the estimate are small, it is possible that these regions appear by chance and are not actually part of your genetic ethnicity.
Europe West (59%)
The Europe West ethnicity was primarily located in Belgium, France, Germany, Netherlands, Switzerland, Luxembourg, Liechtenstein. They were also found in England, Denmark, Italy, Slovenia, Czech Republic. It brings it more to life when seen on a map.
The Europe West region is a broad expanse stretching from Amsterdam's sea-level metropolis to the majestic peaks of the Alps. Geographically dominated by France in the west and Germany in the east, it includes several nations with distinct cultural identities. From the boisterous beer gardens of Munich to the sun-soaked vineyards of Bordeaux and the alpine dairy farms of Switzerland, it is a region of charming cultural diversity.
Bear with me as I explore my findings in the next few weeks, discovering new cousins, connections, and understanding these new DNA results. If you are connected through Ancestry.com, I would love to hear from you. My ancestry site is: paristimes, and my master file is Paris Pioneers-Master.
We shall overcome! Good Night! Good Luck!
