1895 - Dead Outlaw Brought In
The Wichita Eagle, dated 11 August 1895, Sunday, page 1, reported: "Dead Outlaw Brought In." John Fessenden, a member of the Christian Brothers' gang killed near Wilburton, Indian Territory (I.T.) and brought in to Fort Smith, Arkansas, August 10, 1895.

Fort Smith, Ark., Aug. 10 *1895) -- The dead body of John Fessenden, a member of the Christian brothers' gang of desperadoes, was brought to this city this afternoon and interred int he potters' field. Fessenden was killed near Wilburton, I.T., the night before in a fight with officers who were in pursuit of the gang.
