Ku Klux Klan 21st Century

The Ku Klux Klan is a racist, anti-Semitic movement with a commitment to extreme violence to achieve its goals of racial segregation and white supremacy. Of all the types of right-wing hate groups that exist in the United States, the Klan remains the one with the greatest number of national and local organizations around the country.

There is no "one" Ku Klux Klan. there are over a hundred different chapters in various Klan organizations. There may be as many as five thousand members and associates of the KKK. It is strongest in the South and the Midwest. The Klan has been known for a relatively high association with criminal activity, ranging from hate crimes to acts of domestic terrorism.

The KKK ideology is all about White supremacist ideology not far from that of neo-Nazis, although it tends to be more Christian oriented and to stress natives. Affiliatons of the KKK are the following: National Socialist Movement, Aryan Nations, Christian Identity groups.

Our American history tells us the Ku Klux Klan first emerged following the Civil War as America's first true terrorist group. Ever since the KKK's inception, the Klan has seen several cycles of growth and collapse, and in some of these cycles the Klan has been more extreme than in others. And ... in all of its incarnations the Klan has maintained its dual heritage of hate and violence.

We all know at first the Klan focused its anger and violence on African-Americans. Subsequent incarnations of the KKK added more categories to its enemies list, including Jews, Catholics, homosexuals, and different groups of immigrants. All of which were perceived enemies were minority groups that came into direct economic competition with the lower and working class whites that formed the core constituency of the Klan in most of its incarnations.

It was in the late 1990's and early 2000's the Klan was overshadowed by a neo-Nazi activity, but by 2005 the neo-Nazi groups had fallen on hard times. The collapse helped create a rise of racist skinhead activity that provided new opportunities for Klan groups.

Many KKK groups have attempted to take advantage of the fear and uncertainty, using anti-immigration sentiments for recruitment and propaganda purposes and to attract publicity.

The Anti-Defamation League (ADL) report examining the State of White Supremacy in America came out 13 July 2015, in the aftermath of the shooting attack At Emanuel AME Church in Charleston, South Carolina by a suspect seemingly influenced and radicalized by online hate propaganda.

Most white supremacists are ideologically motivated by a series of racist beliefs, including the notion that whites should be dominant over people of other backgrounds, that whites should live by themselves in a whites-only society, and that white people have their own culture and are genetically superior to other cultures. Anti-Semitism is also a central component of the belief system of the majority of white supremacists, who believe that Jews constitute a race of their own with parasitic and evil roots.
