NW Okie's Journey
With rain and floods in Southern Oklahoma I by-passed I35 from Dallas to Oklahoma and took an alternate route through Weatherford, Texas into southwest Oklahoma last week because of the rock slides at the Arbuckle mountains and flooding along I35, southern Oklahoma.
I missed seeing the Red River at record breaking levels, reaching over its banks and reaching the underside of the I35 bridge that connects Oklahoma to Texas.
But ... I did get to view a spectacular old white limestone courthouse that sets on the roundabout square of Weatherford, Texas. I've included that digital photograph in this week's OkieLegacy Ezine/Tabloid. Also got to view the Summer greenness of Southwest Oklahoma along highway 281 all the way to Alva, Oklahoma. It is good to see things so lush, green.
I also came across some research of the Weatherford, Texas area, finding an interesting Comanche story of Cynthia Ann Parker, Chief Quanah Parker's white mother. That is what this week's OkieLegacy Ezine/Tabloid will attempt to share with you this week.
