1915 - The Osage County Outlaw, Lee Harris
In The Guthrie Daily Leader, out of Guthrie, Oklahoma, this front page headline read: "Harris, Outlaw, Recent Jail Inmate."
Lee Harris, one of the bank holdups, captured by a posse in the Osage Nation, Monday, 1915, after holding up the Burbank bank. He was released from the federal jail last February, 1915. He was regarded by officials as an all-round bad character. Harris was sent up for bootlegging. Following the robbery of the Burbank bank, the robbers fled in an auto which broke down.
