100 Years Ago, Tuesday, 11 May 1915
One hundred years ago, 11 May 1915, Tuesday, The Guthrie Daily Leader had the following front page headlines showing "Lusitania Leaving New York Harbor Before She was Sunk Off Irish Coast."
Some of those on the liner were: famous theatrical producer, Charles Frohman; Playwright, Charles Klein; Miss Eva Baker, going for Trousseau when Torpedo hit ship; Novelist, Justus Miles Forman; and Lathrop Withington, football player.
Waters Give Up More Wreck Bodies - Queenstown, May 11 (1915) -- The number of bodies of victims result of the torpedoing of the Cunard liner, Lusitania, recovered at Baltimore, a small seaport on the southern Irish coast, was increased to ten. Two other bodies had been brought ashore at Castletownsend, near Baltimore. Of the bodies at Baltimore, six were of men and four of women.
