1916 - Miss Goldie Coldwell Rides Outlaw Horses In Movies
It was in The Day Book, a Chicago, Illinois newspaper dated 1 November 1916, page 27, that we found this article and picture, entitled: "Rides Outlaws For Movies."
"The Day Book" reported in November 1916 there was no more fearless horsewoman possibly known in this country than Miss Goldie Caldwell, now exercising her talents as an equestrienne in motion pictures. Miss Coldwell was a native of Kansas and was virtually bought up in the saddle. Outlaw horses were her particular delight to ride and tame. For a year she played opposite Tom Mix, famous cowboy of the films. She was being starred by Producer Selig in wild western scenes. In private life Miss Coldwell was Mrs. G. F. Diegel.
