1914, Oil Man Killed At Dropright
According to The Daily Ardmoreite, dated Tuesday, 3 November 1914, page 7, there was an article entitled, "Oil Man Killed At Dropright." That prominent oil man was Elmer Thatcher, who worked for the "Prairie Oil & Gas Company. Anyone have any information concerning this Oil & Gas Company of 1914?.
Tulsa, Okla., Nov. 2 (1914) -- Elmer Thatcher, a prominent oil man in the employ of the "Prairie Oil & Gas Company," was instantly killed in the Dropright oil field, Saturday when some drilling machinery, which fell from the top of a high rig, struck him on the head. Thatcher was married, and left behind a widow and a small child.
