NW Okie's Journey
I continue my daily walks through the Vallecito campground trails north of us. Our autumn season of turning aspens are peaking, or have peaked around here. The aspen trails around the campground are beginning to look a lot like a yellow brick road of falling golden aspen leaves that line the trail.
We have included some more information concerning the Salt Springs, Oklahoma Citizens' State bank robbery of 30 March 1921. We have also found some information concerning Oklahoma territory's famous outlaw, Bill Doolin.
We have been collecting more old 78rpm records from garage sales around Durango. Our recent find are some albums of Tommy Dorsey, Gershwin, Earl Hines Jazz, King Cole Trio and Cole Porter albums. We have added the Tommy Dorsey swing classic and Fox Trot music on the Victor label of 78rpm records to our Cincopa, OkieLegacy Mp3 collections. You can listen to the Tommy Dorsey Swing and Fox Trot MP3 music by way of the Cincopa jukebox in this newsletter.
Very few scratches were found on the records, but the Boogie Woogie record was broken along the outside edges, but we managed to get a partial mp3 recording from it.
