NW Okie's Journey
I'm Back! I know some probably wondered what the heck happened to this NW Okie, huh? I want to begin by thanking you for your patience as I was taking a sort of sabbatical for the past few weeks (almost whole month of July, 2014) to get the finishing touches, concerning my breast reconstruction in Houston, Texas. Everything went well on the medical account, and we did get to play, catchup with a dear old friend (cancer sister) while we were down there.
We are back in the cool Colorado Rockies while the rest of you are feeling the "Dog Days of Summer" in the heartland plains. We have been noticing, though, that during the days in Colorado it does reach into the 90's. It's cool, great working, walking and seated outside under the shade of the pine trees, though. Not at all like Oklahoma's Summer weather.
It's been hard getting back into the swing of things here after traveling from the low-elevations to the high-elevations, but we are slowly adjusting to the higher elevation again.
We have been looking into more news clippings concerning the beginning of World War I and 1914 with Austria-Hungary declaring war on Servia. We have also been remembering the Eagle Lunar moon landing of 20 July 1969.
Remember this by Rep. John Lewis, Civil Rights legend, "The Right To Vote is the most powerful non-violent tool we have in a democracy."
Help get out the Vote, November, 2014!
Good Night & Good Luck!
