1914 - Approve M'Alester Site

Also in the February 11, 1914, newspaper, The Tulsa Daily World, the headlines read: "Approve M'Alester Site." State Militia Encampment grounds would be purchased near McAlester.

M'Alester, Okla., Feb. 10 (1914) -- Word was received from Washington on that day announcing the war department had approved the McAlester site for state militia encampment grounds.
