Walking With Sadie
One of our "OkieLegacy" readers recently asked about a Bohemian who was lynched on 29 September 1893 (12 days after the Land Run of 1893) in Alva, Oklahoma Territory. So . . . we went searching the old newspaper archives to see what we could find out about this alleged Bohemian in Northwest Oklahoma Territory.
What we found was in The Guthrie Daily Leader, dated 1 October 1893 with mention of a lynching by angry settlers near Alva, Oklahoma Territory. Not sure if this is the lynching our reader was talking, but maybe it rings a bell with someone out there. You can read about it under the headlines, "1893 - Angry Settlers & Alva Lynching."
Good Night & Good Luck from SW Colorado Rocky mountains.
