NW Okie's Journey

The last three weeks have been a journey for this NW Okie for personal, medical journey as we find ourselves walking the earth and touching the sky for positive energy to get us through these last few (three) weeks. BUT . . . we did take time and celebrated our oldest son's birthday while we were in Houston, Texas, 26 October 2013.

I won't go into all that we have been through lately. But will let you know that we have had unexpected challenges that we have faced and passed, and we are back on track towards healing. We are keeping a positive, energy filled attitude as we continue along our path we travel on this Earth, pampering ourself, loved ones along the way. Our Cancer journey takes this NW Okie down to the medical center in Houston, Texas, as we take care of the Ductal Carcinoma In Situ (DCIS) that showed up in the Mammogram of my right breast.

Sometime next week I will be having a mastectomy and reconstruction surgery of the right breast, because of the large amount of calcifications and suspicious spots that were diagnosed as precancerous in the upper and lower inner-quadrant of the right breast.

I continue to look upon my health journey with a positive energy as I take these steps, one step at a time with a very good friend who has been a cancer survivor for the last five years. I know I am in the best possible place with the best oncologist, surgeon and plastic surgeon. That is how much faith I have in my doctors down here in Houston, Texas.

Thanks to all that have been sending their best wishes, prayers, strength, positive energy and thoughts. It means a lot to this NW Okie! I appreciate everyone of you.
