NW Okie's Corner

It's been one week since this NW Okie had a large mass removed from her left ovary and a complete hysterectomy. It all done via laparoscopic robotic surgery, and removing it via the vagina. Laparoscopic cuts the recovery time in half (about 1-3 weeks). Thank goodness for Obamacare, Medicare and AARP. Otherwise I would not have been able to afford it and get it removed.

Yep! With a great weight lifted from these shoulders, it was a benign mass. The Laparoscopic robot surgery allows for a week recovery period as to the six to eight week recovery of doing the surgery the old way, cutting through the abdomen.

The last week or so has spent taking it easy and laying around, and walking around the cool mountain garden in southwest Colorado.

I feel so bad for the Oklahomans and others who can not afford health insurance. They put off seeing a doctor because they can not afford the expense of staying well with regular checkups. I do not know how long the mass has been growing down there, but it explains the aches I have been feeling around that area. I am one of those who did not have regular checkups over the last few years, because I could not afford insurance.

I'm glad I live in a state (Colorado) that makes it possible for everyone to get affordable healthcare. Without Obamacare, Medicare and AARP I would never have been able to take care of the large mass on my ovaries. Thank goodness for Obamacare, Medicare and AARP!!!
