P.o.W H. Hartung '47 Floral Still Life...

"I have had for some 25 years an oil painting of a floral still life, signed P.o.W. H.Hartung '47. I have always wanted to know something about the artist, his background, and if he ever painted anything else. There is no indication of the P.O.W. camp at which he painted this, so I don't know if it was in Virginia, where I live, or in Oklahoma. Do you know of any way I can find out?
