Duchess of Weaselskin
NW Okie had not been back but a few days, when a marmot walked through the opened door of greenhouse the other afternoon and did damage to a ripening "Early Girl" tomato and the plant.
We have been leaving the greenhouse door open in the afternoons to keep the heat from building in the greenhouse. A Marmot (related to the weasel) strolled into the greenhouse, picked and ate half of the "early girl" tomato that was ripening on the vine. It is like the Marmot tried to rip a few limbs from the tomato plant. Those damaged limbs were severed from the main plant.
NOW . . . we keep the greenhouse door shut in the daytime. At least oour afternoon rain showers have began here in southwest corner of the rockies. The heat is not building too bad in greenhouse right now.
Good Night & Good Luck!
