One Hundred Years Ago - 10 June 1913
One hundred years ago today, 10 June 1913, on the front page of The Washington Times, we find the small headlines concerning "Anti-Lobby Measure Introduced in House.
Coincident wigth the Senate lobby investigation, Congressman Murray of Oklahoma introduced a bill in the House to exclude objectionable lobbyists from the House wing of the Capitol. The bill provided it shall be considered against public policy for any persons to represent any interest for pay.
It is further provided that all lobbyists shall register their name and occupation, and that if this rule is evaded the lobbyist shall be posted in the corridor of the Capitol and excluded from both committee rooms and corridors.
