On The Spur Of The Moment
In that same newspaper out of Richmond, Virginia, dated 10 December 1912, page four, we found this interesting little article concerning christmas shopping, as written by Roy K. Moulton, entitled, "On the Spur of the Moment."
Do It Early
Do your Christmas shopping early,
Do it early, father dear,
For the frost is on the pumpkin
And the time is drawing near.
Get the sealskin coat for Maggie
And the camera for Lil,
And the limousine for mother,
And the runabout for Bill.
Get the new dress suit for Henry
And the leather bag for Joe,
And the phonograph for Agnes,
And the party gown for Flo.
Get a move on and get busy,
Spend all of your hard earned rocks.
In return you're almost certain,
To get fifteen paris of socks.
Have you done your present day christmas shopping early, or are you one of those procrastinators like the rest of us?
