South Texas League Baseball - 1906
In the 15 September 1906, of The Jimplecute, of Jefferson, Texas had this mention of the South Texas Baseball League and the Austin Champions. The South Texas Baseball League gave Austin the Pennant.
San Antonio, Sept. 12 (1906), page 7 -- "After a meeting of the South texas Baseball League, held here, the contention of Austin that Houston had no right to utilize Maloney and Maag of the Dallas team in the saw off series for the championship was sustained, and the pennant awarded the capital city.
My Grandpa Bill McGill played in the South Texas League as a pitcher for the Austin Senators in 1906 before he got traded to the St. Louis Browns in 1907.
