Sweden To Give Women Vote And Parliament Seat
In the same edition of The Evening World, dated 2 April 1912, we find that Sweden gave women the vote and parliament seat. The government bill conferred equal rights with men in the elections.
Stockhom, Sweden, April 2, 1912 -- The Swedish Government had introduced a bill into Parliament extending to women the Parliamentary franchise and the right to stand for election to Parliament on the same condition as men. Women whose husbands have not paid taxes for three years were excluded from the vote, though.
