How are the rodeos going in your neck of the woods? Does Waynoka, Oklahoma have their annual Stampede Rodeo coming up this next weekend? And . . . Let us not forget Freedom's Old Cowhand Reunion & Rodeo in Mid-August, the next week. If someone gets an extra copy of the Freedom Rodeo program, will you send me a copy? Thanks!
We have heard that parts of Central Oklahoma received only a tenth of an inch rain while the lightning flashed, danced around and the thunder claps boomed. They say, "For awhile, the air was cooler than it had been in several days. All of this happened after the hottest day that had registered 110 degrees in Oklahoma City."
In your lifetime, what were the hottest days that you can remember? I heard on the National news this evening that for the month of July, Oklahoma had the highest average temperatures of all the States in the United States.
We have it a bit cooler up here in the San Juan mountains of Southwest Colorado. We have about four hummingbird feeders hanging up around the outside of the house. Around early morning and early evening hours, you can catch a view of a couple dozen (maybe more) hummingbirds swarming a couple of the feeders. Seems like we refill the feeders each day. Check out our Hummingbird video below, but it doesn't show the two dozen hummers.
