Remembering 12/7/1941

"You asked if any ancestors knew where they were on this date. I remember very well where I was. I was on duty on Second East of St. Francis Hospital as a student nurse in traning. Every one had there radios on listening. I wandered at the time 'Where is Pearl Harbor?' I soon learned. My husband to be had been called up in August 1941. I went to training in November 1941, he was on his way to the South Pacific in January 1942.

There 3? yrs. I was out of training and working at the Alva General Hospital when he returned and discharged July 1945. We married 1946. Like getting your Okie legacy every week." -- Reta Jackson, Retired RN.
