September 1, 1905, pg. 6 of The Oklahoman had these this little tidbit concerning the headlines: Boosting For Oklahoma.
"Attorney John H. Wright, who has recently returned from a trip including a tour of the mountain states and the Pacific coast, said yesterday, "I saw no country more prosperous than Oklahoma and no city more thriving than Oklahoma City. Everywhere I found people from Oklahoma and they were boosting for the now state. I was at Denver during the National Epworth League convention. We could hear them boosting for Oklahoma an the street cars, at the the parks, on the streets and in the hotels. The war cry was as follows:
"Rah, rah, rah! for Oklahoma we are;
We shine at home, we shine afar;
We will add to the flag the brightest star --
Rah, rah, rah! for Oklahoma we are!"
