Choking Fad Still Going Around

"Was reading your latest issue and noticed the news article from 1905 where a 13 year old boy was choking himself with a towel hanging on the kitchen wall. His mother came back in a few minutes later to find him dead. Unfortunately that fad is still going around. I lost my 13 year old grandson 6 years ago when he tried that same trick while alone. I nor any any of his family had ever heard of that fad but since then have learned that it is quite prevelant in the early teens - choking themselves or each other until they nearly pass out and then apparently there's a druglike rush as oxygen returns to their brain. A few brain cells are killed each time a kid does this and the cells never "come back". There are some web sites about the choking "game" - this "game" is known by several names." -- Anita
