Simmons of Galena, Oklahoma...

My mother grew up in the Galena/Twin Oak community. She's almost 96. She said that Bert Simmons was Belle's husband, and their children were Archie, Viola, and Claude. They lived about 2 miles north of Twin Oak school. The children were older than my mother, and closer to the ages of her twin sisters, Ora and Cora, and her brother, Charlie. A few weeks ago, I attended the funeral of one of Claude's sons (Bob Simmons). I hope this information is helpful. I remember that Carl Simmons lived in this area, too. I think he is or was related to the Claude and Vernie Simmons family. We had a chance for rain this evening (April 23), but it didn't happen.
