Weather Dog Report...
Well! It's about time that NW Okie let us get in here. How did you Oklahomans like the rain and snow we towed here ... all the way from Colorado? Didn't think we could do it, did you? If NW Okie says she is going to do something, she tries awfully hard to accomplish it!
Last Sunday NW Okie took us Pugs and the rain all the way to a little town in Kansas (Harper) to meet another history writer and lady that puts out the "Prairie Connection." What a Treat! I think Sadie and I made a big splash and hit up there. Especially, when we jumped out of the car into a puddle of water!
It seems like Sunday, Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday were our wet days around this NW Corner -- "Neck of the Woods." Bringing around a much needed inch of rain ... or more to these dry prairies.
During those cloudy rainy days, NW Okie spent a few hours in the county clerks office compiling a list of Blocks, Lots, Grantees and Grantors around the downtown square of Alva -- going back to the beginning. She is trying to get Block 28, Lots 17 thru 32 transcribed for you all this week. BUT... not sure we will have it completed. Here is what we have so far: Block 29 & Block 28. Block 28 is located between 6th Street & Fifth Street, North side of Flynn Avenue.
We did manage to get NW Okie to take us out to Clark's Horse Farm to see the horses. That Sadie Pug sure did a lot of exploring out there. We even found some extra dog food laying around... UN-eaten! WOW! Did we chow down that day! That NW Okie wasn't too happy with us, though!
I guess we are going to be "On the Road Again" this weekend -- heading back to the Rockies. So... we better cut this short and help that NW Okie pack up the vehicle for our weekend journey home.
