The Company That Made Your Ice Chest...

Look what I found from the company that made your ice chest... "1940 - Gleason, Glen L. "Bud" - Daily News, Greenville, MI - Monday, March 29, 1999 Belding - Glen L. "Bud" GLEASON, 77, passed away Saturday, March 27, 1999, at his residence. He was born March 9, 1922 , in Belding, to Leon R. and Jennie H. NEVE GLEASON, the youngest of three children, Adell, Viola and Glen. He attended Belding Schools and graduated with the class of 1940.
      In June of 1940... he started work at Gibson Refrigerator Co. as an apprentice draftsman. He worked there as manager of design and drafting until his disability retirement in February 1982. He was a member of the National Rifle Association. He enlisted in the U.S. Air Force in September 1942 and served until his discharge as a sergeant in February 1946. He married Rosalie Jane SMITH on June 27, 1942 , in Lakeview. She preceded him in death on June 28, 1978.
      He is survived by his children, Gary and Suzanne GLEASON, Tammy TOMPKINS, all of Belding, Michael and Carol GLEASON of Gowen; seven grandchildren and one great-grandson; one sister and brother-in-law, Adell and Ray JENSEN of Belding; his aunt, Susan NEVE of Grand Rapids; one brother-in-law, Daniel SMITH of East Lansing; several cousins, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister and brother-in-law, Viola and Nate BARTHOLAMEW of Belding; several aunts, uncles, sisters- and brothers-in-law.
      Funeral and committal services will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at the Johnson Funeral Home, Belding, with Pastor Kenneth Harger officiating. Interment will be Rest Haven Memory Gardens . Visitation will be Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Alvah N. Belding Library, Shiloh Community Church or the charity of one's choice."
