This Week Happenings...
I have had several people ask me for pictures of the "Home Comfort Range" that is in my 1934 Home Comfort Cookbook. So... I have recently scanned pictures of various models in the Home Comfort Cookbook. Wrought Iron Range for those you might be interested in learning a little about the Wrought Iron Range Company of St. Louis, Missouri and see photos of the ranges. They evolved in 1864 from the "Farmer" Cook Stove. My cookbook goes with the "Model CB range." Anyone out there have any old, workable Home Comfort Ranges.... or stories... or history of the Wrought Iron Range Co. and Home Comfort Ranges? I guess (from reading the cookbook and what I can find online) the ranges weren't sold in stores, but by traveling salesmen who carried small replicas of the ranges. There is also another person out there looking for any information on the Hawk Dairy out of Tulsa, Oklahoma... Or Hawk Southside in Oklahoma City. Is there anyone out there that would like to share some history, photos? Thanks! I know this newsletter is a bit short and late this week, because... We spent most of Friday afternoon at the Shawnee Horse Expo Center helping a friend (Bud Clark) celebrate his birthday. Tomorrow we are spending Saturday & Sunday at the Oklahoma City State Fair Arena, Saturday & Sunday (April 3 & 4), 9am - 5pm, at the Parelli 2-Day Horsemanship Seminar. So.... I better end here for the night and get some sleep before dawn creeps upon us. AND... we loose an hour Saturday/Sunday night with Daylight Savings Time just around the corner. Before you go to bed Saturday night (after watching OSU beat Georgia Tech), don't forget to turn your clocks forward an hour. AND... Don't forget to tune-in to Oklahoma's OSU Cowboys basketball team Saturday evening at the Final Four Basketball Finals in San Antonio, Texas this weekend when they play Georgia Tech. Go OSU Pokes! We are with you all the way. See you all next weekend with more Okie Legacies. | View or Add Comments (0 Comments) | Receive updates ( subscribers) | Unsubscribe
