Stanley W. Mar, A.B. – Mr. May came to Northwestern from the Alva High School where his excellent work as director of manual arts and as athletic coach had gained him recognition. His training courses were at the Graduate School of Industrial Arts, Oshkosh, Wisconsin. Mr. May made his department popular by being pleasant yet always requiring maximum efficiency.
Manual Arts Department - The workshops of the Manual Arts Department occupied the entire basement of the Administration Building. Thoroughly equipt with all modern devices for work in wood and metal, it was a delight to work in the shop. Courses in furniture, cabinet making, upholstery, carpentry, farm machinery, forging, and numerous courses in mechanical drawing made this department one of unlimited interest for those with inclination to the Manual Arts. A special certificate was offered to those wishing to teach Manual Training.
