X. H. wrote, "I noticed something in one of your issues about groundhog day, but let me tell your many readers a fact about the groundhog himself. On groundhog day if you go to a groundhog hole, and keep a sly watch, you may see him, for he will come out and go in again, and if you go the next day and dig him out he will be stiff, like a stick of wood, and you can carry him home under your arm, and if you lay him down before the fire, and when he gets warmed up a little, he will begin to snap his teeth and will care very little about shadow or sunshine."
