September 1906 - Austin Baseball Champion
In The Jimplecute (Jefferson, Texas, dated Saturday, 15 September 1906, page 7, we found this article on the sports section of the newspaper, reporting that Austin were the Baseball Champions, of the South Texas Baseball League, took the Pennant in 1906.
San Antonio, Sept. 12 (1906) -- After a meeting of the South Texas Baseball league, held in San Antonio, TX, the contention of Austin that Houston had no right to utilize Maloney and Maag of the Dallas team in the saw off series for the championship was sustained, and the pennant awarded the capital city.
