1913 July 14 - Sherly J. (Hassler) Jenkins Died From An Operation

In the Tulsa Daily World dated Tuesday, 15 July 1913, front page headlines reads: "Died From An Operation." Sherly J. (Hassler) Jenkins, daughter of a Tulsa woman bled to death.

Enid, OK, July 14 (1913) Special -- Mrs. S. M. Jenkins of this city, died Monday as the result of an operation performed by her husband in which her tonsils were removed. Immediately following the operation, Mrs. Jenkins suffered a very severe hemorrhage and it is thought she was unable to rally on account of the loss of blood. Her death occurred about 5 hours after the operation. Her mother Mrs. Ida Hassler of Tulsa, was with her at the tie of her death. mrs. Jenkins had been married five years and was Miss Sherly J. Hassler. She has two sisters and a brother living in Oklahoma.
