15 December 1941 - W. J. Curry Dies Monday
In the 1941 newspaper of the Alva Review-Courier, dated 15 December 1941, we find that "W. J. Curry Dies Here Monday." Funeral services were be held that Wednesday.
W. J. Curry, 87 year old pioneer of the Freedom community, died at 9:30 a.m. at the Alva General hospital. Curry had been a resident of Freedom for 36 years coming to this county from Alfalfa county. He was a farmer until his recent retirement. He was born March 20, 1854, in Green county, Kentucky.
Survivors were four sons, L. H. Curry of Kansas City, Missouri, A. A. Curry of Albuquerque, New Mexico, F. T. Curry of North Hollywood, California, and W. C. Curry of Freedom.
