NW Okie's Corner

Before the snow started melting up at Vallecito Lake, North of Bayfield, Colorado, we took this image with our iPhone and used Adobe Photoshop Elements software to change it into a cross-hatch drawing. If you looked at the Lake right now, the snow on the dry parts of the lakebed and the mountains has since diminished, as compared in the image on the left while it still had snow cover.

Can anyone out there help me identify the wood in this garage sale item? We found this interesting chair at a garage sale this last weekend. It just needed some tender-loving care and a good oiling, cleaning. It also needs a seat to sit on so you do not fall through to the ground below, and as seen in the before and after picture on the left and right, respectively. Is it an antique? What kind of wood is it? I do not know?

You know how sometimes we all tend to get caught up with things happening today, leading with a knee-jerk type of reaction, letting our emotions rule our opinions. We are all guilty of that at some time of our lives, aren't we?

There is something we can do about it in a positive, constructive way. Perhaps we could take a deep breathe, step back, calm down and do some research. I do understand that it is easy to fall into these knee-jerk reactions, letting our emotions drive your opinions. I am probably as quilty as the rest of you out there.

Thanks for listen! We can live through this and come out stronger! Perhaps we need to smile and laugh more often, and open your minds to others beliefs with respect and understanding. Putting aside our anger, hatred and judgmental attitudes.

Thanks again for listening to this opinionated woman! Have a great week and month ahead of you as we sometime soon advance into Spring. By the way, will Spring ever get here?
