Duchess of Weaselskin
As the snow thaws during the day with 40 degree weather here in southwest Colorado, we still accumulate a few inches of heavy, powdery and wet snow on top of the snow that we have received this Winter of 2013.
It has been a lazy week in southwest Colorado. That kind of day you want to play hooky and take a walk during the sunny afternoons ranging in the 40 degree weather and watch of the snow filtering, breaking loose from tall pines and splattering on the roofs and roadway right-of-ways below. Becareful, though, if you don't want it to filter down on you.
We are slowly getting to the end of the history of Rockbridge county, Virginia. We have received some German POW watercolors that were painted in 1945 by Herr Eugene Weidenmann while he was helping a rancher in Center, Colorado with his potato harvest. Has anyone ran across Weidenmann and any other art renderings out there? We did a search for the name Weidenmann and found some up in Eugene, Oregon, but do not know if they are related. Check out the watercolors of Weidenmann in this week's newsletter.
Good Night & Good Luck!
