Duchess of Weaselskin
This Duchess Pug has been doing a lot of laying around outside in a sunny dry spot soaking up the mid-40's to 50's degree temperatures here in southwest Colorado rockies during the daytime hours. My favorite past time, when NW Okie lets me.
It seems like the past few weeks, has brought out the early evening raiders of raccoons in Southwest Colorado Rockies. We have this pellet-paint gun that we use to startle those rascally raccoons that come in at the early evening hours looking for the extra bird seeds that the birds scatter during the day. Sometimes the rascally raccoons come in pairs and three at a time.
We hope everyone out there that were involved in the northwest Oklahoma blizzard has finally been able to dig themselves out and has running water and electricity. We hear the Alva, Oklahoma area's water tanks ran dry and has been under a conservation and boil order as they refill and recharge their water tanks.
On to another subject about "spontaneous Human Combustion (SHC)", though. About seven years ago, 2006, the OkieLegacy Ezine had heard from someone concerning a mystery of a Spontaneous Human combustion case that occurred in Alva, Woods county, Oklahoma during 1922. We did not hear any more about it until last week when Alva's Library Director contacted us about the March, 1922 mystery concerning Mrs. Ona Smith, a paralytic invalid, who experienced these symptoms of SHC. There were newspaper reports dating March 14, 1922, that mentioned incidents that occurred around March 13, 1922. We have included some of those news stories in this week's OkieLegacy Ezine. If you have any information concerning these SHC stories, we would love to hear from you. Have you heard of Mrs. Ona (Meyers) Smith's SHC 1922 episodes?
Good Night & Good Luck!
