1913 - Garment Workers of New York On Strike
This little tidbit of news from December 31, 1912, comes by way of New York through the Medfore Mail Tribune, out of Medford, Oregon, with the headlines "Garment Workers of New York On Strike."
New York, Dec. 31, 1912 -- Active picketing of nearly 4000 clothing shops and factories affected by the strike here of the Male Garment Workers' Union began today. The strikers say that 100,000 workers are out, while the Employers' association say that 25,000 is the outside figure.
