In The Times Dispatch, dated Monday, December 2, 1912, out of Richmond Virginia, we find this little tidbit of information concerning women Voting in Massachusetts in 1912, although it was only to vote in a school board election.
Boston, Mass., December 1 (1912) -- Women would take a prominent part in December, 1912's city elections in Massachusetts. More feminine voters probably will go to the polls than ever before.
Although the law only permitted them to vote for school board candidates, the present registration was nearly double that of former years. Fourteen Massachusetts cities would have their elections on Tuesday of this same week in December, 1912; fifteen will have elections a week later and two on December 17 (1912). Boston's election took place in January (1913).
