NW Okie's Corner
As we learn more about our past and the "old times" of the our pioneers, we find the old times were unlike the present times, so much so that . . . can we truly understand them very imperfectly unless we give no little time and thought to the points of difference?
The manner in which people wrote and conversed was not quite the same as it is today. Have we abandoned many of the expressions once in everyday use and taken up others which should puzzle our fore parents to understand. What would they think of our communications today?
It is often imagined by some that the old times were better than the present. Without doubt we have in our modern haste lost some of the features of the olden times. We have cares they knew little of, yet on the whole it would prove a very unpleasant experience to be thrown back into the environment of the early pioneer days. Don't you think so?
Good Night & Good Luck!
