Woods County Pioneers

J. P. Cooprider -- Cooprider was a Supt. of Schools and a native of Indiana. He came to Woods county soon after the opening and secured a farm. Cooprider was elected county superintendent of schools in 1900, and re-elected by a largely increased majority in 1902. He was a quiet, methodical and exemplary officer. He is buried in the Cooprider Cemetery or the Livingston Cemetery, located 9 miles west of Helena at the Jct. of Hwy. 8 & 45. .
