Dear Duchess

NW Okie and David have been busy preparing for some personal business coming up this next week in Woods county and this pugnacious Pug shall again be your guide through this weeks newsletter. Hope you donot mind.

Last Monday morning we were packed and hauling an old Karmann VW that my buddy, David, had picked up for next to nothing in SW Colorado, and hauling back to NW Oklahoma.

Sadie and myself were riding as "shotgun" on our normal perch on the shotgun seat between the the front seats of our Tundra.

LaVeta Pass, Apr. 20, 2009 We left Bayfield, Colorado around 9:30 a.m. and headed over Wolf Creek Pass, through South Fork, Del Norte, lunch in Almosa and also filled up our gas tank in Almosa and headed towards LaVeta Pass and Walsenberg and ended Monday evening at LaJunta, Colorado for a nights rest before heading East on Tuesday for Dodge City, Kansas and turning South towards Oklahoma and the Fairvalley Ranch south and east of Freedom, Oklahoma.

LaVeta Pass, Apr. 20, 2009 Reaching Fairvalley around 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 21, 2009 to unload some things.

It was good to see "My Bud" and his three black dogs. Bud has some great looking canola crop east of Alva in Alfalfa county. That late spring snow/freeze didn't hurt it a bit.

Saturday and Sunday the spring storms have brought tornado warnings and watches to NW Oklahoma while we have been in Alva. North Enid had some tornado damages Saturday evening, but all we got in Alva last night was some late night thundershowers.

This Sunday afternoon we are still under tornado watches/warnings until 7pm today. It is overcast and we have the local tv weather on for alerts. The weatherman just reported warnings for SW of Harmen and NW of Woodward.

So ... I'm gonna cut this short so NW Okie can turn off her laptop soon. Here comes the thunder! I am out of here for now!
